As a Mercator Fellow, Said examines how multilateral financing mechanisms can contribute to more effective fiscal and industrial policy coordination in capital allocation — particularly in a geostrategic environment marked by rising defence investments, stagnating innovation returns, and limited production capacities.
Previously, he worked for organisations including the German Stifterverband, the Dieter Schwarz Foundation, and the Schwarz Group, and advised members of the federal and state governments on technology policy and technology assessment. He is a Research Affiliate at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
