Short biography

Reimar studied German studies, history and political science at Heidelberg University, graduating with a Staatsexamen (master’s equivalent). Further, he was a visiting student at Queen’s University and he holds a master’s degree from the University of Oxford. As Mercator Fellow, he explored ways to make international interventions in fragile and conflict-affected contexts more conflict sensitive and thus sustainable. Before joining Mercator, Reimar had already gained professional experience in the nexus of conflict transformation, peacebuilding and development through his work for the European Commission, the GIZ and the German Federal Foreign Office.
