Chance or risk for Asia? The effects of unconventional fossil fuel markets for regional energy security, sustainable energy policies and geopolitics

Short biography

Patrick M. Renz received his Master’s degree in International Relations from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Bern. He gained professional experience in the private sector working as China Energy Security and Geopolitics Analyst for the China Oil&Gas Monitor with NewsBase and more recently as Research Analyst with Frontier Services Group in Beijing. He is Pacific Forum CSIS Young Leader and founder of the platform IR.Asia. During his fellowship, he will focus on the nexus between energy and security by examining the impact of the new realities on Asia’s fossil fuel markets for regional energy security, sustainable energy policies and geopolitics.
