As a Mercator Fellow, Mona Hein works on religious actors in (post-)conflict regions, focusing on the application of the ‘do no harm’-approach. She holds a M.A. in Religion & Culture from the Humboldt University of Berlin, with a yearlong academic stay in Lebanon. For her thesis, Mona conducted research in the Kurdistan Autonomous Region in Iraq. The approaches and perspectives she gained during her B.A. degree in International Social Work & Deaconry at the Protestant University Ludwigsburg form the basis of her work. Mona builds on work experience with UNHCR Indonesia, the German Federal Foreign Office, the GIZ and the local NGO ‘Anti-Racism Movement Lebanon’.
