Short biography

Mirco Günther was born in 1984. After doing his alternative civilian service in Ukraine he studied Political Sciences in Berlin and Moskau, as well as Middle East and Central Asian Studies at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He gained work experience as a student assistant at the Center for Transnational Studies, Foreign- and Security Policy (ATASP) at the Free University Berlin. Additionally, he did an internship at the German Bundestag, the Federal Foreign Office, as well as in the South Caucasus and at the United Nations in New York. After his Mercator year Mirco Günther was seconded by the Federal Government as Head of the Water Management Unit at the OSCE office in Tajikistan.
