Project description

As a Senior Fellow of Stiftung Mercator Michael Werz analyzes the political and societal conditions that create cohesion in modern communities. Within this scope he sees the answer to the question on the role of Europe in the world and the future of liberal and pragmatic liberalism.

Short biography

Michael Werz has been working for more than 25 years on topics like US-American Foreign Policy, European Affairs and Transatlantic Relations. He focuses on non-traditional conflict scenaries such as climate change and migration. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, a Board Member of Atlantik-Brücke and is present in German-, Spanish-, as well as English-speaking television and radio. Michael Werz encourages various dialogue formats by bringing prominent personalities together. He teaches and publishes on topics like Intellectual Migration and Western Intellectual History, Dynamics of Race and Ethnicity in the 20th Century United States and Europe.
