Merve Yılmaz is an Associate Researcher, co-authoring the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Global Status Report for Buildings and Construction. Her expert insights on decarbonising the building sector have been featured in Le Monde, Radio France Internationale, and Anadolu Agency’s YeşilHat. Previously, she worked at the International Energy Agency (IEA) on the energy transition agenda and high-level initiatives linked to the G20. With experience across Europe, Africa, and Türkiye, she brings a cross-regional perspective to development and cooperation. Yılmaz holds an MSc in Sustainable Development Economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a BSc in Economics from Middle East Technical University.
