Marko Filipović is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Marko Filipović is deputy mayor of the City of Rijeka, Croatia, where he was born and raised. Before being elected to this position in 2013, he was a Rijeka City councillor and a member of the Assembly of Primorsko-Goranska County. Mr Filipović is president of the Social Democratic Party’s in the City of Rijeka. As Rijeka’s deputy mayor he represents the city and helps in all aspects – developing its urban strategy and strengthening local self-government with regard to urban planning and development, ecology, land and assets management, public utilities, cultural and sports events, energy savings, budgetary issues and more. Mr Filipović graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Rijeka.
