As a Mercator Fellow, Marie-Yon Strücker focuses on how to combine citizen participation and the possibilities of new technologies to the benefit of nature conservation and biodiversity research and monitoring, while creating more environmental awareness amongst all parties. She studied Biomechanics (MPhil) at the University of Cambridge and Biomimetics (BSc) at the University of Applied Sciences Bremen. In addition to her research experience, Marie-Yon Strücker worked for the South Korean broadcasting station KBS. She is committed to interdisciplinary and intercultural exchange, especially between Europe and Asia as well as between everyday life and science.
