Project description

Mara Drochner is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Mara Drochner is a project manager at KfW Development Bank, the German government-owned promotional bank financing programmes and projects in developing and emerging countries. Mara has been working in KfW since 2011 and has gained experience in various sectors and regions. In her current position in the Division for Turkey and South-East Europe, she is responsible for financial sector projects in Serbia and looks into the German / European cooperation with its South-Eastern neighbours. The EU-Turkey refugee deal and special commitments from the EU and Germany for Turkey are current focuses of her division. Prior to working for KfW, Mara pursued a postgraduate programme at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE). She completed her masters in International Relations and Development Policy at the University Duisburg-Essen.
