As a Mercator Fellow, Lukas investigates innovations and options for reducing GHG emissions in energy-intensive processes to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions. He is interested in industrial parks for the production of bulk materials, their funding guidelines and “best available technologies” (Sevilla-Process).
Lukas has previously worked at the University of Cambridge (PhD student), for a steel producer and a Berlin startup. He holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from TU Berlin and a Master in Engineering for Sustainable Development from University of Cambridge. He writes a newsletter on energy and recycling topics and is a board member of the German Association for Waste Management (DGAW).
