Ludwig Jung is a Foreign Service Officer with previous tours at the German embassies in Abuja, Nigeria and Bamako, Mali. Most recently, he served as a civilian stabilization advisor to the German Bundeswehr’s UN-contingent in Northern Mali. Before joining the Foreign Office, he was a consultant at the World Bank’s Development Economics Research Group as part of the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs. He holds a master’s degree in international relations from Georgetown University where he was a Fulbright scholar and recently completed a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Bayreuth with a thesis on the political economy of international prohibition regimes.
Ludwig Jung participated in the Mercator Fellowship on international affairs in 2015 and is also a fellow of the Turkey Europe Future Forum 2021.
