Laura Scheske completed a Master in Biomedical Sciences, specialized in infectious diseases and international public health at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and holds a Bachelor in Liberal Arts & Sciences from University College Utrecht. She gained first work experience at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), as well as at OneDiagnostics in the Netherlands. During her year as Mercator fellow, she will focus on how climate change prognoses are being integrated into global health policies, and how this is reflected in infectious disease control strategies.
