Bridging the interface between AI companies, the state, civil society and science, Julia Reinhardt wants her fellowship to help ensure that the necessary regulatory intentions in European AI development can actually be put into practice rather than ending up as paper tigers.
Julia Reinhardt is an expert in Artificial Intelligence governance, privacy and public policy. From 2002-2015 she worked as a German diplomat with assignments in Rome, Berlin and San Francisco, where she participated in the first drafting of the new EU privacy policy. Since then she has consulted small and medium companies on AI, tech policy and privacy. As a Mozilla Fellow in Residence she recently assessed opportunities and limitations of European approaches on Trustworthy Aritificial Intelligence in Silicon Valley.
