Ezgi Özcan is 19 years old and grew up in Herne. After successfully completing her high school diploma this year, she will begin a dual-subject bachelor´s degree at Ruhr University Bochum in Politics, Economy and Society, and English Studies. Her personal aspiration is exploring how social structures and legal frameworks can be deliberately used to strengthen communities and democratic values.
Her commitment to the common good was already evident throughout her school years. Through her years of involvement in the student council, as a grade-level representative, and as a public relations officer for the citywide student council, she learned to actively take on responsibility in society. Her most important motivation for the future is bringing people together and thereby fostering mutual understanding.
Ezgi Özcan completes her short-time work placement at the Heinrich Böll Foundation for the EU in Brussels, Belgium.
