The potential of islamic-feminist approaches in the field of international cooperation

Short biography

As a Mercator Fellow, Eyshan Shadi explores the question of which approaches and narratives Muslim women use to work socially and theologically in their respective communities and societies. Her special focus lies on alternative, local initiatives beyond European-centered thought patterns and project interventions. She studied peace and conflict studies with a focus on Islamic jurisprudence, Orientalism, and postcolonialism in West Asia. Previously, Eyshan worked in various international as well as local organizations.
