Eline Bötger works as a diplomat in the political section of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey. She covers Turkish foreign policy, with a particular focus on the Eastern Mediterranean, migration, energy politics and multilateralism. Prior coming to Turkey, Ms Bötger worked at the EU Department of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Netherlands, on migration policy and rule of law. Before joining the foreign service, Ms Bötger worked as an international governance consultant in the water sector. Ms Bötger studied Political Science and European Studies at the University of Amsterdam and holds a Master of Science in Water Science from the University of Oxford.
