Project description

Elif Çavuşlu is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Elif Çavuşlu is a National Expert for Professional Training at the European Commission Directorate for Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO). Before that she worked as an EU Affairs Expert at the Ministry for European Union Affairs (MEU) of the Republic of Turkey and served as the Chief of Cabinet to the Undersecretary. She began her career in the civil service in 2010 as a Junior Expert at the MEU. She was promoted as an expert in 2014 after writing and defending a thesis of expertise on the development of the EU’s counter-terrorism policies in the post 9/11 era. As a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow (Amsterdam 2012), she is actively involved in Turkish civil society focusing on human rights, anti-discrimination and Roma rights. Elif holds a B.A. in Social and Political Sciences from Sabancı University and an M.A. from University of Warwick in European Union Foreign Policy and Security Issues where she was holder of the Jean Monnet Scholarship.
