Her project focuses on the implications for German-Turkish dialogue of new global challenges, the Euro crisis and the debate on the future architecture of the EU.

Short biography

Ebru Turhan is a political scientist and an economist. Her research interests lie in EU-Turkish relations, the role of interests and the significance of norms in the formation of EU enlargement politics. Turhan received a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Marmara, and a joint master’s degree in contemporary European studies from the University of Bath, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Freie Universität Berlin. She obtained her doctoral degree in political science from the University of Cologne in February 2012: Decisions Related to Turkey’s Accession to the EU: Interests vs. Norms (2012).
