Dr. La Toya Waha is analyst and policy advisor for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Berlin. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Political Science from the University of Heidelberg. She was visiting fellow at the Center for South Asian Studies (CEIAS) in Paris and at the Social Policy Analysis and Research Centre (SPARC) in Colombo. In her role as Deputy Director in the KAS Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia in Singapore, La Toya led two research projects, one on the comparison of drivers for radicalisation in Asia and Europe, and another on natural disasters’ impact on conflict transformation in Asia. She published on state-formation, the relation of religion and politics, religious violence and on the political culture in Asia. La Toya is a member of the international advisory board of the International Journal of Religion and serves as reviewer for journals and publishers like Cambridge University Press. Before joining KAS, she worked as research fellow at the Institute for Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence in Bielefeld.
