Annika Roes works on current challenges in Dealing with the Past, in particular on how Dealing with the Past in Europe can be enriched through exchange with the Global South. She holds an MA in History (SOAS University London) and an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies (Marburg). She gained work experiences at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Rabat (Morocco), the Center for Conflict Studies Marburg, in civic education with LpB (German institute for political education) and during her voluntary work. Most recently, she taught a course on dealing with the past regarding German colonialism at the University of Freiburg in cooperation with the municipal museums.
