During her fellowship year, Anna-Sophie Hobi addresses the question of how transparency in the commodity sector (extraction and trade) minimizes the risk of illicit financial flows and corruption and thereby contributes to a sustainable future of resource-rich states in the South. Over the past few years, Anna-Sophie has worked on the commodity sector as part of the international research project “Valueworks” for which she conducted research in Zambia and Switzerland. Moreover, she is a committed member of the Swiss “Apartheid Debt and Reparations Campaign” and worked for the Swiss NGO “fepa”. Anna-Sophie studied Social Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Basel and Linnaeus University.
