Reforming the global financial architecture is one of the key challenges facing international development cooperation. While countries in the Global North are seeking new partnerships across Africa, Asia and Latin America, the perspectives of the Global South remain underrepresented in debates and reform processes on development finance. This imbalance hinders the development of fair and sustainable international partnerships.

The project examines emerging reforms in development finance and develops a balanced framework that places the priorities of the Global South at its centre while recognising the political and institutional constraints faced by actors in the Global North. It brings together academic research, the perspectives of practitioners from the Global South, and analyses of emerging policy proposals.

By engaging with multilateral political forums and fostering dialogue between diverse stakeholders, the project aims to identify common ground for a fairer, more inclusive and future-oriented approach to development finance while strengthening cooperation between the Global North and the Global South.
