As a Mercator Fellow, Alina Bill-Weilandt explores how climate risk management can be designed in an effective and globally just manner in order to foster sustainable development. Her focus lies on disaster risk financing and insurance. She gained professional experience at the intersection of international cooperation and climate policy through work placements with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the GIZ, and Bread for the World. She is co-founder of The Policy Corner. Alina studied at the University of Bremen and at Dickinson College (US) and completed a Double master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Political Science at Sciences Po Paris and FU Berlin with distinction.
