As a Mercator Fellow, Alessandra Biagioni works on sexual and gender-based violence in conflict zones. Her goal is to develop inclusive, intersectional and survivor-centred approaches to prevent conflict-related sexual violence. During her master studies at the University of Zurich and the American University of Beirut, she specialised in international peace, conflict, and security studies. Previously she worked at the International Crisis Group, the Department of Political Science of the University of Zurich, and various human rights non-profit organisations.
