Project title

Rule of Law in Post-Conflict Environments – Access to Justice, Community Policing and Penal Reform

Short biography

Afra Sophie Ure studied history and politics at the University of Warwick and holds a master’s degree in international security with majors in global risks and the Middle East at Sciences Po Paris. Initial work experiences include the Department of Disarmament and Arms Control of the German Foreign Office, the GIZ Police Project at the African Union in Addis Ababa and the coordination office of the GIZ African Police Program in Berlin. Her fellowship focussed on establishing the rule of law in the context of peacebuilding in post-conflict states. Over the year, she worked on community safety and community policing projects with the OSCE in North Kosovo, on “Access to Justice” with UNDP in Sudan and on corrections in peacekeeping missions in the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York.
