Grant Requirements
What we support:
Stiftung Mercator provides funding for projects which fall within its three centres of
science and humanities,
education and
international affairs.
We also focus on the three thematic clusters of
integration,
climate change and
arts education
in all three of our centres.
Stiftung Mercator implements its own projects and provides funding for external projects. We select the projects on the basis of the extent to which they support the clearly defined strategic objectives for our thematic clusters and/or are related to our centres' fields of action. Please only apply for a grant if your project meets these criteria.
What we do not support:
Please note that Stiftung Mercator does not provide funding in the following instances:
- Individual grants outside the foundation's own grant programmes
- Printing grants for publications
- Projects requiring funding commitments which are unlimited in time
- Funding to cover public budgetary shortfalls
- Non-project related institution personnel and administration costs
- Construction projects
- Commercially oriented (not non-profit) projects and institutions
- Project with no discernible relation to Germany
