Organization
Stiftung Mercator is structured around the three centres of Science and Humanities, Education and International Affairs. The communication and administration units operate on a cross-centre basis.
Although the project managers are assigned to specific centres, they do also work outside centre boundaries in some projects, particularly projects in our thematic clusters.
We have defined a cluster of three distinguishing thematic priorities on which all our centres will focus over the next few years: Integration, Climate Change and Arts Education.
Our activities are therefore structured in a matrix consisting of centres and thematic clusters. Ideally, the projects which are assigned to a specific centre should also promote the objectives of one of the thematic clusters.
